The lost hopper

A tiny winy grasshopper ended up on the Anthurium flower and leaves in the vase. He was hopping around and happened to catch my attention one evening and then I decided to shoot him before returning him back to the garden.

I have used an ordinary Kodak camera which has an option for shooting items closer than 28 inches, after some trials I could get a good shoot of this light green hopper which was worried and not interested in posing for me.

Another Oil painting

This is a quick oil painting done in few hours time, without going into details.

This is my second oil painting and I have a long way to go before becoming average in the art of oil painitng. One thing I learnt is that we need to be very much patient for doing paintings. Luckily I have come across this painting course which is helping me train myself.

For an outsider seeing this painting.. it is poor.. but for me, my every art work is an excellant piece of work which I enjoyed doing. I guess I love myself and my art work.

My first attempt at Glass painting.

One of my dear friend’s had gifted me glass paint on my Birthday. So sweet of her, thank you dear! I will very soon be painting one for you as well.

I have some glass pieces which would be getting ready soon, but then I couldn’t wait till then and tried out a simple picture on this jar I had. It’s easier to do glass painting on a flat piece of glass else the paint tends to flow down.

This is how the final piece looked like. Better job next time!

The Kitchen Window

We have a small kitchen window which required a curtain… it’s been requiring one since the past few years. It never happened because we never got a curtain rod fixed for this window in the first place and getting a carpenter at a later point of time is difficult. So we managed by hanging some cloth there which is so boring. Another important reason for needing a curtain for this window was to block the curious onlookers of the neighboring apartments from peeping into our home. One fine day an idea clicked in my mind and I took it up as a project to stitch a curtain which could be temporarily hung on the window rod.

This curtain was done using an old dresses shawl and that too without a sewing machine to work with, it is a tedious task. My sweetheart has plans to gift me a sewing machine sooner or later πŸ™‚ after which such tasks would be cool. I have stitched 5 tags which slide through buttons on the back (not seen in this snap) to be used to fasten the curtain at any position. This could later be used to move the curtain on to a rod. BTW today a carpenter is coming over to fix a curtain rod for this window.:) How do you like the fabric paint applied on the top portion of this curtain?. This had to be done to distract attention from the poor hand stitching that has taken place here. Then the small paper cuttings fixed on this are just temporary craze on mine to give a theme to the curtain.

The curtain came out well in terms of measurements and finish. πŸ™‚ Overall I was very happy with the outcome!!!
